Summer

Chamonix Mont Blanc is both a summer and a winter resort.

The town where mountaineering started, Chamonix is great for Summer exploration, walking on the mountain paths to mixed alpine routes in the high mountain tops, Summer is the owners preferred season. With Mont blanc as the back drop where better to have your mountain summer holiday, or to start the tour de Mont blanc, a famous walking route around the massif de Mont blanc that takes 6/7 days.

The mountain biking here is exceptional, as is the hiking. Originally a town - its NOT a purpose built ski resort, because of this it has kept its charm and warmth. There are not many places where you can follow in the footsteps of the great hero's of mountaineering or just sit in a high meadow and enjoy the view. The heart of Chamonix has a huge variety of bars, restaurants, nightclubs, shops, ski-rentals and all you need for a great holiday.


Walking & Hiking
This is beautiful walking country with clear, clean air, dark pine forests, gleaming glaciers and soaring rocky peaks.

Mountaineering
For over 200 years the mountains above Chamonix have been the crucible of Alpine mountaineering. This deep cut valley, dominated by the flanks of the Mt Blanc Massif and it's smaller companion range the ‘Aiguilles Rouges,is the home to many of Europes finest and most difficult climbs. However Chamonix is not just about extremes. What makes this valley special is the incredible quality and choice of mountain routes at all levels of difficulty. Climbing
Climbing on the Mt Blanc massif and the Chamonix Valley means hot rock, high mountains, superb granite and miles of limestone cliffs.

Golf
Golf in the European Alps is popular with many people who want to take in the "alpine feeling" while enjoying a leisurely round of 9 - 18 holes. Many resorts in the Alps, such as Chamonix, Evian, Verbier and Crans Montana have excellent courses.

Paragliding
This is one of the prime launch sites for high altitude flying. At 3842m (12680ft) the view is spectacular and a pilots' dream. To access take-off, walk down the Arret du Midi. This is quite steep, maybe very icy and there are no rope barriers to help you in the summer.


Sight Seeing
Chamonix is world famous. At the foot of Mt Blanc ( 4808m. 15,770ft ), the highest mountain in western Europe, Chamonix's alpine town atmosphere and spectacular scenery attract people from all over the globe. It boasts of having one of the highest cable cars in the world.

Mountain Biking
Chamonix attracts skiers, climbers and walkers from all over the globe. It is has become a haven for mountain bikers too. There are trails to suit all levels of ability but more experienced riders will, without doubt, get more out of the Chamonix valley, as the riding is often technical and steep.

Water Sports
White Water sports such as Rafting , Canyoning , Kayaking and Hydrospeed are all popular. Local lakes are excellent for Windsurfing and Swimming . Whether in lakes, rivers or gorges it's like being in a huge amusement park: sliding around in the water with the hot sun on your back.

'Blue Bird' is on the southern district of Chamonix, 2 minute walk from the cable car Aiguille du Midi, 5 minutes walk from central Town Square and only 50 meters from the stop for free buses to all main ski areas of Chamonix.

Restaurants, bars, supermarket take-away shops, ten pin bowling and pool hall are all minutes away.
